FRIMO Hot Air Riveting
Riveting can be useful in situations where, for example, small components must be joined to form one large component. Many different riveting methods are used, depending on which materials must be processed.
In theory, all thermoplastics can be processed using hot/warm air riveting. The plastic is heated by hot air and plasticized, formed under pressure, and pressed together. After switching the electricity off, it is cooled air. The air is heated by using compressed air or an air stream heater.
The process is carried out without contact during the warm-up phase, in which the rivet head is molded in a separate station with a rivet punch. Through the physically ideal separation of heating and forming, hot/warm air riveting allows particularly secure connections with backlash-free seating of the joined components.
