Mix heads play a very important role in PU processing. They are used for mixing resins, such as polyurethane and epoxy-resins.
In most cases, these are comprised of two liquid components, which are mixed together in the mix head. The A-component of polyurethanes is a mixture of polyols, catalysts, and other additives. The B-component contains the isocyanate or an NCO-containing prepolymer. Mix heads are often used during the production of foaming or back foamed products, where PU soft foam systems are used. Another field of application is the mixing of resin-hardening systems for manufacturing lightweight composite components.
