Combine injection molding and PU processing to establish an all-in-one solution for customers. That is the basis of the cooperation between the Chinese injection molding machinery company YIZUMI and FRIMO, which was signed in February in China by YIZUMI CEO Richard Yan and FRIMO CEO Dr. Christof Boensch. Both partners aim to establish a long-term partnership in this area to offer customers an additional value.
The trend towards lightweight, premium surfaces, which are especially popular in automotive interiors, has increased the demand for economical solutions capable of high-volume production. This is where YIZUMI’s production strategy and FRIMO’s range of services ideally complement each other. The cooperation will further the development and commercialization of a combined process to allow in-line production of thermoplastic parts with PU surfaces.
Typical applications for automotive interiors include instrument panels, door panels, and all kinds of pillar trims or other trim parts. By combining injection molding with PU processing, higher quality parts can be produced in high volumes, which makes this technology interesting not only for a variety of interior applications, but also for exterior applications. Polyurethane overflowing is also an interesting solution for other industries, where injection molded parts have a much wider range of applications.
Guangdong Yizumi Precision Machinery Co., Ltd. a strongly growing Chinese company founded in 2002 that produces injection molding and die casting machines and systems, rubber injection molding machines, and Thixomolding machines. YIZUMI has technology service centers in the USA and India, and has over 30 sales representatives outside of China, who support sales in over 60 countries and regions. In 2017, they established a research and development center in Germany at RWTH Aachen’s Campus Melaten to grow their research, supplier, and customer networks. YIZUMI is constantly expanding its global presence to offer its customers high-quality products and services around the world and to establish itself as a global company.
FRIMO and YIZUMI will present the combined process for producing injection molded parts finished with PU surfaces first at Chinaplas in Guangzhou and then at K 2019 in Duesseldorf, as well as at other local and international trade shows.
