FRIMO Mexico Grand Opening and TechDay
FRIMO, one of the leading developers and providers of system solutions for manufacturing high quality polyurethane and thermoplastic components, hosted their first TechDay in Mexico combined with their Grand Opening celebration on June 22nd at their new plant in Puebla.
The day was kicked off in true Mexican spirit with a mariachi band. Mr. Hans-Günter Bayer, President and CEO of the FRIMO Group, began presentations with an introduction to the FRIMO company and a thank you to Sascha Gehrmann, former Plant Manager at FRIMO Mexico, for his hard work and dedication during the construction and start-up phases of the new Puebla plant.
The introduction speech was followed by Mr. Jeff Daily, President of FRIMO Inc. in Wixom, Michigan, who dove into the strategy of FRIMO North America and what customers can expect to see at the Mexico plant in the months and years to come.
Mr. Karl-Heinz Stump, Global Head of Planning and Processes at BMW, then took the stage to discuss the importance of the Mexican market in the automotive industry, as well as the status and future of their plant in San Luis Potosi.
After a short lunch and mariachi break, Mr. Fidel Vaca Reyes, Platform Director at Faurecia, gave a presentation on their leadership position in automotive interiors and FRIMO’s role as a key partner for Faurecia Mexico.
The afternoon’s presentation portion was wrapped up with overviews of FRIMO’s tooling, equipment, and service capabilities.
After the presentation portion, guests were invited to explore the shop floor, where they could see the current projects underway, including a turn table and polyurethane metering unit for Windsor Machine, which will be used to produce head rests. Guests could also see the CNC, welding, and paint booth areas of the production floor.
The day was wrapped up with a celebratory dinner at La Purificadora in the center of Puebla.
