Global investor solution for FRIMO now completed - FRIMO Innovative Technologies becomes FIT worldwide

Lotte, May 17th - FRIMO Innovative Technologies has now also taken over the global business activities of the former FRIMO Group. The German locations in Lotte, Freilassing, Hamburg and Sontra have been under new management since August 2023. With locations in Hungary, Poland, the USA, Canada, Mexico and China, FRIMO Innovative Technologies now also has a global network for a competitive position in the international market environment.

Another milestone has been reached in the restart of the FRIMO group. The reorganization, the course for which was set with the takeover of the German locations by FRIMO Innovative Technologies GmbH 10 months ago, is now complete.

“We have succeeded in stabilizing FRIMO Innovative Technologies at a good level within a very short time by taking over existing projects and acquiring new orders,” emphasizes managing shareholder and CEO Hans-Günter Bayer, adding: “With the integration of the international locations into the new group of companies, a further decisive step has now been taken as part of the investor solution in order to position FRIMO Innovative Technologies - FIT for short - for the future and to achieve this positive dynamic on a global scale. FRIMO Innovative Technologies offers a complete portfolio of machines and tools covering the areas of PU processing, Flexible Trimming, Punching, Pressing/Forming, Thermoforming, Press Laminating, Edge-Folding, Joining and Gluing. The range also includes the implementation of all upstream, intermediate, and downstream process steps. Customers are supported from start to finish, from the early development phase to series production and after-sales service. Innovative and sustainable materials and product ideas are implemented with many years of technology and process expertise and brought to series maturity, depending on the required quantities with an adapted degree of automation.

Customers include well-known OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers from the global automotive industry. Based on decades of FRIMO expertise, one focus is on production solutions for the manufacture of high-quality interior components, which are in greater demand than ever in view of autonomous driving and in individual design variants with a wide range of new materials. In some cases, these place completely new demands on the manufacturing process.

Electromobility and lightweight construction are also key drivers of innovation. FRIMO Innovative Technologies can support the production of individual battery components with a broad technology portfolio. Key projects have been implemented in research projects and in series production, e.g. manufacturing solutions for electrodes, gap fillers, cell separators, membranes, or potting. Applications for battery protection include housings, EMC shielding, heat shielding and temperature control as well as underbody protection. In addition to batteries for e-mobility, the demand for stationary batteries is also growing immensely. This applies both to charging stations and to the intermediate storage of renewable energies. Here too, there are numerous modules and components that can be manufactured using FRIMO technologies. The production, assembly, and welding of electrodes, for example, can be implemented efficiently and flexibly with reliable tools, systems, and assembly lines.

In addition to automotive, the entire mobility sector is now being served. Projects for completely different industrial applications are also being processed, e.g. in the furniture and new energy sectors. In addition to the traditional spectrum, this potential is to be significantly expanded with innovative and sustainable solutions to ensure growth.

The conditions for this have now been created with the global structure. The focus is on establishing competitive production structures and thus for the customer: Consistently high quality, fewer interfaces, reduced complexity, optimum consistency, and transparency in the handling of global projects from early development to series production and after sales.

FIT is not only an abbreviation for FRIMO Innovative Technologies, but also the motto for the market and customers: New flexibility and market-adapted and improved product solutions that add value. In short, technology solutions that are FIT, i.e. bring project-specific advantages, such as simplified application or production processes, functional integration, bundling of technologies and shortening of production cycles and assembly times, improved energy efficiency, material savings and thus cost savings over the lifetime.
